writes:I started liking my this gay guy about three months ago and over those months we have became friends. We are not really close but I feel like I am becoming closer with him every day. He always sits next to me in the class that we have together and we just talk the whole period and I cant help but gaze into his eyes the whole time. I like him so much it hurts! I really cant count how many times I've cried over him because I know that I can never have him. I think about him 24/7 and even have special songs that remind me of him. He doesnt know that I like him though and I dont think telling him would be a good idea. He is a really feminine gay guy, like he talks with a girly voice, walks girly, always uses my comb to fix his hair and even plays with mine sometimes lol (: Everything about him is perfect! I love the way he walks, talks, does his hair, dresses just everything. But of course he just has to be gay :( He's openly gay too. Ugh this just really sucks, has anyone been in a similar situation? I really have strong feelings for him.

 He's gay. YOU are nothing sexual to him. You may be his best girlfriend in terms of just friends however. some of my best friends in college were gay guys and this was the 70s when it was not really OK yet to be totally out... but they made great shoulders to cry on, fabulous dance partners and just were FUN to hang out with. But I never ever thought it would be more than that...

reader, anonymous, writes (3 October 2011): Unfortunately there is nothing that you can do, because he is gay and that is all there is to it. You may have to distance yourself from him for a while if you can't handle being just friends. It's a shame that your in this position, but there is nothing to be done.
