writes:I was wondering if you can tell me how long periods go on for because mines have gone on for 12 days and and I'm getting pains in my stomach like every 15 minutes and very uncomfortable!!!My dad is moving out and I don't feel as if I'm close enough to live with him when my mom is on shift [working] What should I do? I want to live with him but we are always arguing and shouting at each other. I actually feel like I'm begining to dislike him A LOT and it's killing me because I love part of him because he is my dad but the screaming and shouting is tearing me apart!When we do get on he always takes it too far and I end up in a mood that I can't get out of like for the night and when he trys to talk to me I storm off, I cant help it!! 3 days ago I locked myself in the bathroom to give myself space after our fall out and he kicked the door open hit me like 3 times and took my phone off me, took the battery out and chucked it hard back at meWhat can I do? He made me promise I wouldn't tell my mom and he always says its my faultplease helpthanksxx

Periods can be awful things and very painful. The prolonged bleeding may be due to an infection.look out for and large clots or a foul smell.if you get any of there and your bleeding has not settled in a few days consult your doctor.try hot bath for pain

It's not quite healthy if it lasts longer, but a doctor can prescribe you birth control pills to adjust your periods, so you should consult your gp. The faster, the better! Now, about your Dad, you say you are "shouting at each other" quite often. Nothing excuses violence, ok, but some parents are simply unwilling to accept a 'who screams louder' competition. Would this scandal fulminate even with you pointing out your ideas maturely, soft-voiced? But if your being more moderate won't change the situation, you should either avoid discussing "controversial" topics, either... tell your mother. Now, reading your other post, you're not exactly an angel either well, well... Also, sometimes children after a fight with their parents tend to exaggerate their being missunderstood, or can expect only their parents to mend the situation. Try and mend it too. Be a little more moderate in manifestations. It can do miracles... Good luck and take care of your health

 Periods are suppose to last up to 5 days so you need to go to the doctor to see if your okay!!! You should really tell your mom about what your dad did even though he told you not to.

reader, anonymous, writes (12 August 2007): frist he hit you so you do need to tell your mom he had no right to hit you and i really dont think you want him to do it again but it all your mom knows best so you do need to tell her but im not sure abou how long a friend of mine had one for 3 months stright but mine dont last more than a week but if you have had sex or been touched than it maybe that so talk to your mom about everything she will understand and will protect you and help you with you problem just have love and faith in that and talk to her now or call her asap
