Please please please any help will do! Can anyone make sense of this and tell me what the hell happened with me the other night and why this may of happened!?! I'd really appreciate it!

I was out on a night with a big group of friends both guys and girls. We were having fun with the banter, chatting and the usual stuff when you go out on a night with friends. I was really very happy and having a good time cause i enjoy being out with everyone!

Then a couple hours later we all headed over to this club and even then i was still really happy and having a good time. But about half an hour in out of nowhere, i suddenly had a change of moods!? It was like a switch and it happened SO quickly!!?? I was feeling so unhappy, depressed and empty....

I don't know at all why or where these feelings came from and why it happened so, so rapidly it shocked me? I mean I was literally talking and laughing then straight away the mood shot straight down!! I felt so unhappy, i wanted to cry it was that bad.

I left because i couldn't shake it and didn't want to be around everyone while i felt like this? Everyone was asking what happened, why wasn't i happy and i had no answer. Because honestly.... i don't know, i don't know what happened?

This isn't the first time this has happened. But i want to get to the root of why this happens, what triggers it and most importantly how can i switch so quickly for NO reason!!?

Dear Mandy agony auntHI

Im not saying you have it hun, just seek proffessional advice from a Dr, My freind of 30 yrs has bipolar, and she started just the way your discribing, but many things can cause your change of mood like that. Diet no, that would not change your mood, unless you have stopped eating real food and drink only suppliments. Which can cause terrible distress to your hormones. Not to mention liver desease amongst other things. But to switch moods from being extremely happy minute, to completely depressed the next has absoultly Nothing to do with what food your eating. Of course a healthy diet is always a good thing to have, but the only way you will get to the route of this problem is by consulting your Dr after all he is medicaly capable of helping you .

I do hope you are able to sort this out, and you are not alone. Any time you need to talk, even just to get things of your chest, we are all here to help in any way we can .xx

yum yum agony auntI think its good that you are aware of this mood disorder and not in denial about it. That makes it easier to help you and give you the right advice and/or treatment . I think you should see a doctor/phycologist and talk to him about it. Take care !

You need to consult your therapist and/or doctor. No one can diagnose you over the internet we can just give our opinions. It does sovnd like some sort of mood disorder. Good luck.

dmartin89 agony auntI spent most of my teenage years feeling like this! So you are completely normal.

I havent spokent to many people about it (friends who are doctors and mental health professionals) and they put it down to hormones.

These feelings can also be inflamed by drinking alcohol, not doing enough exercise, not eating enough fruit and veg. There are many chemical reasons why this happens, I'm not going to ho through it because it could take ages.

Once you understand what is causing this very sudden change in mood then you can gain some control over it.

I havent experienced this for the last 6+ months because I make a big effort to exercise 5 times a week, eat lots of veg, take multi-vitamin tablets and I NEVER drink to get drunk. I am a big fan of red wine, so I will have max of 2 glasses with a meal.

This really does make a difference.

Next time you are out partying with friends, limit your amount of alcohol and I'm sure you will see the difference.

p.s. what you're describing is NOT bi-polar. I have family members who have this condition and what you're describing is not that. If you had it, your family and friends would notice.

It's not the alcohol, though i did think that maybe it could be bipolar disorder, but then i thought surely my mood swings would be more frequent and i would know if i had it? There has to be some reason behind this, but i don't know whether it would be bipolar?

Dear Mandy agony auntHI

did you consume an alcohol? sometimes this can have a different affect on people. If not then maybe you need to consult a Dr, you could have bipolar disorder. Which I know may sound shocking, but can be treated properly. Mnay people suffer with this, being extremely happy one minute, then so low and depressed the next, and unless treated properly and with the right counciling, you can get serverly depressed and harm yourself or others. I AM NOT SAYING YOU DO HAVE THIS!!!! but better to be safe than sorry dont you think? xx
