A female United States age 30-35, *ovelyWoman writes:

I have known an older guy with kids for at least a month now and there are many things he has done and said that lead me to believe he was interested in me like he would flirts with me and once or twice he has held me in his arms and cuddled me.

Since I had known his kids before him, I thought it would be the right thing to do by letting them know how I felt for their dad. Recently, I discovered that his 11 year old son has a crush on me and has been lying to me a lot since he has a problem with it and his 8 year old son has already been calling me 'mommy' in which I told him to stop since I have no idea how their dad feels about me.

I wanted to tell this guy how I feel since his kids have already tried saying stuff about it when I told them not to but all of a sudden he seems to be too busy for us to actually talk together. Does this mean he is not interested?

Sounds like the idea of having his children attached to someone he is not sure is going to be around for the long haul is scaring him. By bringing it up to the kids you planted a seed of hope in them and them bringing it up to their father caused him to panic and worry about how he is going to deal with the situation.

PixiePie agony auntnot necessarily, but it could be he's scared of things moving too fast, even though its his kids initiating this.

men tend to panic silently rather than women who ask questions and converse.

leave him a voice message, email or something that he can read/ listen to even if he is busy, explaining that you want to talk. make it light hearted and not a big deal.

chances are he's been hurt before and is just scared of rushing things.

and make sure you explain to both him and the kids that nothing is pushing forward and is definite, the guy probably just needs to know he can breathe.

good luck and let us know what happens!!
