i think that if you have already been together and split up it might be a bit tricky, but i think you should drop a few hints to him about being together and if he gives you positive comments then ask him to get back with you but you should also think it might spoil your friendship with him if things dont work out if you give it another try and friendship is better than having nothing!!

 im in a similar situation, i also love my best friend. But he didn't want to take the risk of us spliting up and in a way im glad because he cares more about our friendship. If you really love him then you'll let him go, because if you don't want to hurt him again then you wont. It will be hard trying to get over him without losing him as a friend, but you wont because best friends understand. Hope it all works out for the best :) x x
