I really regret breaking up with him now. What can I do?

I had an amazing relationship for nearly five months... and we broke up five months ago. I broke up with him bc my dad didnt like him but i dont even care about that any more. right after we broke up, i was a mess and i texted him every once in a while freaking out. i also just got out of another relationship, but thing is, hes dating someone else. recently, weve started talking and acknowledging each others existence again, but i want him back... what do i do?
