Anyway so basically I think he knows I like him but he hasn't mentioned it since I know he can be shy bout some things. Should I just say to him sometime look I did like u but because u didn't like me I left it alone? I just think to myself I'm fat and ugly and he would never go with anyone like me i wouldn't say I was over weight but not skinny either. Please should I tell him what should I say to him? Or just stay well away?

 You're already out with him frequently, have much in common as friends, and slept together. You're basically dating without the label already so I'd say yes, go for it! The worst he can say is no, and it's better to know that sooner than later.
As a wise friend recently told me (I believe it was Denimandlace44), in 20 years, you'll regret the things you didn't do far more than those you did.
