I know it's weird to have your tongue in someone's ear, but is it weird when you're making out with your gf?

A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

So this girl and I have been dating for about 4 months now. One day after spending the whole day together, we went back to her dorm. We were alone, so we talked for a bit and then started making out on her bed. I guess I just wanted to try something new, so I started kissing her neck and then her ears. When I got to her ears, she gasped. But what's weird is that it was more of a giggle. I've never done that before then so I was just curious. She seemed shocked that I did that, but then she turned her left ear toward me, tucked her hair behind it, then asked me to do it again. So I just gently kissed the ourter rim of her ear for a while, then I even swirled my tounge around inside it. She was smiling the whole time. This whole thing lasted at least ten minutes. She apparently liked it, and I honestly did to, but I was just wondering if that is weird or anything...I mean I know it's weird to have your tounge in someone's ear, but is it weird when you're making out with your gf? Does anyone else do this?

Got Issues agony auntMy ex used to do that. The first time I was very surprised because I couldn't imagine why someone would want to stick their tongue inside another person's ear, but it was a nice sensation, if a bit strange, and I did find it to be a big turn-on. Whatever floats your boat.

Honeypie agony auntNothing weird about it. Though I would keep my tongue OUT of her ear. She doesn't need fluids in the ear canal and you really don't need wax on your tongue (no matter how clean the ear canal is there is ALWAYS wax there and the WAX catches the dirt and dead skin cells, so in my book, gross.)

Stick to the out part of her ear, you can add little puffs of air (blow gently) in the ear canal for added spice.

Personally, I don't like people touching my ears/eyes and toes.. but that is just me. Obviously your GF liked it.

TRYING something new is a GOOD thing, that is how you find out what turns her on and what doesn't - learn to READ her cues of her likes and dislikes.

My boyfriend does that to me all the time.

Now that I think about it, it's one of his lets-get-down-to-business signs haha.

I hate it when he does that in public tho. I feel like people get grossed out. If he does that when we're alone, I let him. It doesn't really do much for me (except when I know I'll get laid LOL) so I just let him have some fun.

A male reader, no nonsense Aidan United Kingdom +, writes (17 March 2013):

I haven’t heard of anyone doing this before but then again most couples find in their private time that there is something that turns them on that might be considered “unusual.” You only worry it’s weird because you’ve not heard of anyone else doing it, but I’m sure there are people out there who like this. If you both like it then carry on.

I wish you all the very best.

If she likes it go for it. If this leaves her smiling you have just found one of her sensitive areas. This will also in many cases help to more intimate moments and better sex. If the wax is a issue have her wash her ears out gently with a wash cloth while she bathing or showering and yes you to. Who knows you might enjoy it also. good luck.

Fatherly Advice agony auntPersonally, I love it. My wife on the other hand prefers that I play with her neck and earlobes. It's really not that unusual.
