Hi babes,

dont worry you are young and it takes awhile for everything to sort itself out, as time goes on you will become more regular, if this is a real problem for you go see your doctor he/she will put your mind at rest

A female reader, darksecretangel United Kingdom +, writes (18 June 2007):

darksecretangel agony auntHeya

Hun dont worry your periods take a couple of years to regulate into the 28 day cycle, and obviously you are young as well so that will contribute to your timing in periods. Also your diet and stress levels could be playing a factor in your mensturale cycle. If you really are worried then visit your gp. But i think you have nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps good luck :)

eyeswideopen agony auntI just what to add that if you are very active and into sports, that can cause a lapse in periods. When my daughter was running track and cross country her periods would stop for months at a time.

A female reader, kellyO United Kingdom +, writes (18 June 2007):

kellyO agony auntHi there,

I really dont think u should worry yourself much about this. If your age in the posting is correct then it is most likely your cycle hasnt normalised yet. My period was never regular until i turned 16.I would go on sometimes for 6 months without any. It is like that for some people. Some of my friend are even still like that at their adult age.

But if u still find yourself troubled and concerned then perhaps it might be better to go see your gp as advised here already.

Goodluck
