A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Please, i have this problem that is bothering me so much. It may only be aesthetics but its really getting my down. I have always had big breasts, although they have always been in proportion to my frame. They have never been pert, nor have i ever been able to wear a t-shirt without a bra but i just accepted them as being the size they were and that they didnt point skyward.

However recently i have lost a stone in weight. I have noticed that they have lost any signs of elasticity and they now completely point to the floor. They are hideous. If i look down i cant even see my nipples anymore. I feel like i have had 3 kids and breastfed, I'm only EIGHTEEN!!! There is no way i can bare all to a guy now, looking like this. They become dry so often and have god-awful stretch marks on them.

I wonder if any guy would not be repulsed by them as i am, i'm considering just keeping my bra on if i do get intimate with a guy, would that be acceptable do you think?

Please, any advice on how to make them look better, exercise or any other suggestions, are greatly welcomed. Im open to anything, im so fed up with looking like a middle aged woman.

angelDlite agony auntsurgery - a boob lift, though you probably won't get this on the nhs as they are cutting a lot of services and procedures at the moment. to help yourself, try bio-oil to minimise the stretch marks and keep the skin supple and moisturised. take vitamin E capsules (either on their own or in a multivitamin) very good for the skin and its connective tissue, drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated (at least 2 litres a day) do some exercises to strengthen your pectoral muscles (these are the chest muscles which your breasts sit upon. if the muscles are nice and toned this will give things a bit of a lift. no more fast weight loss - if you have any more weight to lose, take it nice and slow. quick weight loss is disastrous for the skin

Jmtmj agony auntBoobs are boobs, we love em. Stretch marks? If a guy even notices, 99% are just not going to give a damn. Seriously.

We're much more likely to give a damn about the bra staying on... Most guys will be understanding about your insecurity for a while, but they'll expect the bra to come off eventually. If you're uncomfortable with that then perhaps just keep the lights off, then when you're ready you can use low light candles- everything looks better in candlelight.

Bio oil, and in particular Solar oil, most often used on cuticles, are really good for stretch marks.

Oh do I feel your pain....you do something good for your body and it does the opposite for your breasts, so unfair!

I am currently working with a trainer at my local gym to try to work on getting mine off the floor lol. I went from a D cup to a C cup and they just don't look good anymore, tons of stretch marks just past my armpit over my breasts and I did have kids, breast fed, gained weight, lived with it and lost about 40 pounds about a year ago. I am doing a lot of free weights and machines at the gym to build some muscle not only on my chest, but sides, and back, for toning as well. The trainers are telling me because I have done so much already with the machines, treadmill and elipticle (sp.?), it should not take long at all working at it 3-4 times a week...I hope they are right!

If it doesn't work, I will at least be in better shape, better toned, and honestly, will start saving for either breast implants or a breast lift, whatever is best. I have worked hard to get where I am and I want to be so dependent on underwire bras! You are young and you WILL probably bounce back with exercise in my opinion....I'm 42...not so much for me, but I'm going to try! lol!

Congratulations on getting healthy! Keep up the good work, and stay active!!!

Don't worry about them too much. I lost a lot of weight in a short time as well and suffered the same problem. So I decided to stay on the weight I was for a while to see what happened. While doing that I was doing more weight exercises for my chest (look them up on youtube, there are plenty). After 6 months everything had evened out and I had lost (among other things) the gaunt look in my face and my breasts got perky again.

Losing weight this fast often forces your body to tap into fat reserves it otherwise wouldn't have. That's why sometimes even people who are still obese (but lost a lot of weight) have gaunt faces and dull hair. Your body needs to adjust to this new weight and it will when you stay on it for a prolonged period of time. I always see it as a reset: this new weight has to become the new standard for the body. Once it is everything will even out.

So in short, be patient and do bodyweight or free weights exercises to tone up your body. Add protein in your diet for muscle development so you'll become more streamlined overall. Don't worry about getting too buff, you won't be, not unless you train like a bodybuilder.

Also, keep your skin moisturized at all times and exfoliate a lot. I often mix lemon juice and sugar for a body scrub and it keeps my skin soft. Add moisturizer after that and you'll feel soft as a baby.

Hang in there, you'll be fine! Remember, you're still very young so your body will bounce back much quicker than that of someone who is older, but you have to give it a hand.

dmartin89 agony auntI'm 21 and have lost 3 stone and my breasts have gone down too, which tbh im thankful for because they was getting too big!

The stretchmarks will fade, keep them moisturised.

Exercises do help; http://www.breasttalk.co.uk/breast_exercises.aspx

Good luck :-)

well I know you are young which is why Im going to suggest the following so you dont waste yourlife worrying and suffering, if they are that bad and actually depressing you to even look at yourself in the mirror naked and you arent scared of surgery go and get them sorted! You can have a breast lift pretty easily these days just make sure you do your research and speak to your doctor.

Or you could try exercising there are plenty of upper body exercises you could do but quite frankly if they are pointing to the floor you could waste a lot of years trying to make them better and fail... breasts are basically just fat, we have muscles behind them that we can build up but there would still be the fat on top...
