Is it in bad taste or bad relationship etiquette to give my GF the same gift (a custom-designed collectible) two christmases in a row?

She loved the one I got her last year and I thought about getting her another one this year.

My thanks to everyone for their thoughts. While I was glad to see that there was nothing wrong, ultimately I decided to get her another present and save the collectible for her birthday (which happens to be in 2 weeks).

I agree with Aunty BimBim, and if you're unsure, get er the collectible and then a backup gift in case the reaction isn't a good one. You can give her two gifts and just say what you told us, that you gave her the collectible because it made her so happy last year, but you were unsre if it was good taste so you brought a second gift (something less expensive like maybe chocolates or something)

CellarDoor89 agony auntYa I absolutly agree. If she really loved your gift last Christmas then I dont see any problem in getting her another one of the collectibles (as long as they are different enough that she can still enjoy it). Hope this helps.

Aunty BimBim agony auntI think if your GF is still collecting whatever it is you gave her last year, a new piece for her collection will not be considered bad taste.

Go for it, it shows forethought and consideration.
