He's not single. It was a fantasy/game to him, not real, as it was to you.
Dump the dude, cut the contact and move on.

 alright well I have been talking to a girl I like for about 5 months now and started talking to her online because I was afraid to talk to her in person. I don't tell my friends because they will get angry at me they are watching my back to try and keep me from doing something stupid or wasting my time. I care about this girl more than the world even know last night she told me we are just friends. I also did not tell people because I was ashamed by myself to talk to her online before I met her in person. I did not want to make her think that all I do is talk about her. I don't want her to think I am obsessed with her because I am not but truthfully I think about her a lot. I think it only means he likes you and he does not want to freak you out by talking about you all the time :)
