Hi. I am a 60 year old female, have been in a marriage for 30 years, the last 25 years of this marriage has been without sex with my husband (or anybody else). I have resorted to clitorial stimulation of myself in the time of need. I have recently met a man much in the same situation in his marriage, we are very attracted to each other and have started an affair. I have taught him how to stimulate me, but I seem unable to reach a climax for some reason. This is distressing to both of us and I wondered if there was some natural vitimens I could take to help me with this, or perhaps I need to increase my hormone intake. Please help. GM

Hi Dr. Pete, Please do not apologise on behalf of judgemental people, but I thank you for that anyway. No I have not seen a doctor on the problem and I honestly do not think it is related to "guilt". I have been deprived of a mans touch for many years, through not fault of my own but chose to stay in the marriage for many reasons. However, my attraction to the new partner aside from the emotions which are definitely there, are very sexual, it is just the peaking that seems to elude me, not for the want of trying. Perhaps I should not expect so much, then it may arrive naturally. As a matter of interest, I do not think my situation is for everybody of course, but as a result of this new friendship, I am a far nicer, more relaxed person to be around and I do not regret this decision one bit. Thank you for your interest. Regards GM

GM no one should be on this website to judge you, I do apologise on behalf of the other answers - they shouldn't have been approved really.

Have you spoken to a doctor about this? I don't know but perhaps it is your age? Or, do you have any guilt associated with what you are keeping from your husband?

Some believe the repressing of emotions (such as guilt) can cause an inability to orgasm successfully.

I'm sure you could find tons of information about this by using Google - have you given that a try?

Peter

Do you seriously think people will tell you how to increase your libidio with the way you have explained it? No I don't think so. What do you expect????!! You are commiting adultery. How can WE NOT judge that?????

To No. 1 answer: The question asked was not "what shall I do", but what can I do to help increase my libido. Circumstances given was to explain the lack of male participation for so long, now suddenly a male has appeared that would actually enjoy having sex with me. There are reasons for me staying in the marriage which has nothing to do with the question asked. You were not asked to judge the situation. Therefore my rating for you is poor, but I do appreciate your input. thank you. GM

I think you need to focus on your marriage love, rather then your sexual satisfaction with SOMEONE WHO IS NOT YOUR HUSBAND. Why the heck have you both not had sex for 25 years??? That is incredible! Do you love your husband? It is unbeliveable that you have left it this long, and then you ask US advice as to whether persuing an affair is going to help!! If your marriage really is unresolvable and you have tried, then you seriously need to consider divorcing him. Then you can be free to persue any sexual activity with other men as you wish. Get your priorities sorted out!!
