 Don't tell him. Its not like you will be prancing around the house shirtless. And if for some reason or way he acciedently sees it, what is he going to do, make you remove it? I could see how a parent would be hurt that their little girl mark her body with a tatoo, but lets face it you are an adult and really can do as you please. If you are so worried about what he will say, then maybe you shouldn't have gotten in the first place.
I still say, don't tell him.

 I agree with part of what Em said. I don't want to know about my daughters pubic shaving habits. As long as I know they shower regularly I'm happy. On the other hand I think kids should feel safe talking to their parents. I'm a bit worried about a guy who has no rule about tattoos but goes off his rocker over earnings. Perhaps you should have talked to him first.

DON'T tell them!
I didn't tell my mum about my tattoo for about 5 years. It's just not worth the hassle.
Do you tell them about what shape you shave your pubic hair into? It's your body and they do not need to know.

Just tell them. You're an adult. I suspect this is more about your Dad not wanting to accept his little girl is growing up. It's not big deal. Just tell your mum first and then you're Dad.
