reader, anonymous, writes (19 November 2011): He seems upset because you have to go, not because he doesn't like you. Your doing all the right things, don't worry about this, he's probably going to start pursing you in earnest, do your homework, that comes first anyways.

 Simple just tell him that you like him. Reassure him through communication. Maybe arrange for the two of you to meet up when you are free, go to see a film or do something you both enjoy doing. I understand that you are shy, but maybe just tell him you are shy so that he understands. But am pretty sure he probably already knows this anyway. Just apologise and say you have been very busy lately so maybe you should both go out together somewhere so you can make it up to him.
