my boyfriend and i have been together for 8 months and lately for about a month now, things have died down a bit. sometimes i wont hear from him all day liketoday for example its 6:30pm and we havent talked all day. if i question him he will say 'oh u already know i was at work', thats an excuse but that never stopped him from texting me before. there is a bit of an age difference if that means anythingg im 18 and hes 24. i love him sooo much and dont want things to die down..i try talking things out but he says things are fine but we both know there not.I want to go back to becoming a priority in his life. idk what to do :(

A female reader, aunt honesty Ireland +, writes (19 November 2011):

aunt honesty agony auntAfter a while a relationship does settle down, once the honey moon period is over, contact sometimes becomes less and maybe he just feels that he does not need to reassure you that he is thinking about you when he is at work. If you both still meet up and spend time together well then is that not enough? If you feel that it is unacceptable that he does not contact you as much then you both need to sit down and come to some sort of agreement that will keep the both of you happy. However if he is at work then you should just give him the benefit of the doubt and talk to him in the evening when he is finished. Try not to put to much pressure on him.
