writes:this is more of a female question.I'm 14 and iv had my period since 6th grade but i hate wearing pads.....i feel like i'm sitting in blood and that's nasty.i want to ask my mom if i can do tampons instead but i don't know how....iv hinted like crazy but she still doesn't get it.so whats the most obvious thing i can say without actually saying it?

 My mum didn't want me to use tampons, truth be told, but we went on holiday once (and my periods were unpredictable but heavy) with a pool and got mine then, because it would be a pretty crap holiday if I couldn't swim.
Some mums get tetchy about it because it can brake your hymen (i think), but if your mum uses them, ask her if you can use them. Or specifically get you mates to have a pool party on your period and ask for them then.
If you get your own, I recommend: tampax mini with applicators. these are good beoz they have plasic applicators and are clean and hygenic, then I would use lilets or something regular size so they actually work, because the mini range dont hold much. With out applicators are easier after a while, because they only have a bit of plastic over the top which you just through away. Make sure you push them in hard enough - it doesn't hurt but its wierd feeling like its coming out (it won't, trust me.) if that happens, just go to the loos and change it. If Iwere you I's wear pads underneath as well for a bit so you don't dirty your knickers if you misjudge your size.

u can just ask for money to buy ur own or ask your mom if she has ever tried them and if so tell her one of ur friends uses them and she likes them and u would like to try them

the regular cycly is a verry narual thing and happens to the vast majorety to femails all over the world, you dont need to be affraid to ask for somthing a bit more suitable, give here a smile and a hug and im sure she will understand :)

 What about ... these damn maxi pads are so nasty, what about those cotton push ups? LOL Not funny, sorry. But I do remember being very embarrassed. I think I had a friends older sister buy them for me.
