I have a boyfriend who I have been dating for two years now, well just recently he got drunk at the bar and text some "old high school friend" "I just want to hold you" I know he loves me and I love him too, I just can't seem to be forgiving him too easily; I'm still mad I used to trust him and now that I dont anymore it's really taking a toll on our relationship what should I do?

A reader, anonymous, writes (28 July 2008):

Trust is a very important part of a relationship.

The text he sent must have been very hurtful and obviously damaged your trust. But how much has it damaged your relationship? Do you think that he really would have followed through on these actions if he had the oppurtunity?

Did you fall out before hand? Are there any small difficulties in your relationship that would cause him to look for affection else where when he was drunk? How was your relationship before this happened?

It's all important when considering if you can forgive him and trust him again?

How did you find out? Did he tell you?

Good Luck,

Emivia. x

I think you should talk to him about this, tell him how you feel.
