A male reader, CaringGuy United Kingdom +, writes (2 October 2009):

You're at their house, so you have to respect their rules. However, you don't need to let them decide what you have to wear. Say to them clearly that your clothes represent who you are, and to change them would be asking you to suddenly change your whole character. As for going out, maybe don't go out during the week as much? Or at least come back a a slightly better hour? (not 3am in the morning). Don't let them bully you into changing, but make sure you do respect that it is their house. Ultimately, if it isn't working out, you'd be better moving and explaining that you are who you are, and they cant chnge you. Hope that's helpful a bit.
