A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

So I've always been pretty shy when it comes to guys.. I wish I could overcome this.. There's this boy I've known for about 4 years and I've had a crush on him for about a month now, maybe longer.. We text everyday whether its a lot or just a little and we hung out a few times since I've liked him.. I thought he liked me so I figured things were going good.. But I don't know, lately we just don't have much to talk about and I'm afraid he's losing interest in me or maybe getting tired of waiting for something to happen.. I wanna hangout with him more but every time we do I feel shy and awkward because I never know what to talk about (I'm always afraid of saying something stupid so I mostly just remain quiet).. And the past couple days when we text it's mainly just always the same "hey what's up?", "not much", "cool" then that's it.. I wanna actually be able to keep a conversation going, over a text and also in person.. So can you guys please give me advice on how to keep the conversation going and how I can soon make him mine? Thanks :)

TimmD agony auntAsk him out. But to avoid the awkward "I really like you, do you want to go out with me?".... you can do it like you're making him ask you out. For example: "So, when are you taking me to a movie?" or "Are you going to finally ask me out to dinner or do I have to ask you?". You guys have been friends so use that.

I know it's hard being shy, but the truth is if you continue the way you are you may lose him. Just take a deep breath, swallow any nervousness you have an do it. You won't regret it, trust me....
