hey

well i am in year 11 and there's a guy in my form who i really like. We aren't really friends, we've known each other since year 7 but we don't know each other too well. However we've recently started talking more over msn and at school. My friend thinks that he might like me because of random stuff he does like random stuff he says to start a conversation, saying hi to me and not really noticing my friend, watching me when I walk past and touching my face randomly in front of people. My friend says that she's seen him look back at me a few times when he's walked away with his mates and he also appears to try and make me jealous by flirting and hugging other girls when he sees me approach. His friends also stare at me a lot when he talks to me and he always smiles at me or says alright mate when he sees me. I'm pretty sure that to him i'm just another girl, mostly a friend and nothing more. My friend thinks otherwise because he brings up things from online conversations and things from a while age, in front of his mates. As well as continuously joke around with me even when he was kind of tipsy. I don't think he has many friends who are girls and aren't in any of his classes so I don't know how he acts around other girls. I think he could know that I fancy him and that is why he is more and more flirty with me.

Can some one please tell me whether he thinks of me as a mate ? What should I do ?

A male reader, kenny United Kingdom + , writes (2 April 2007):

kenny agony auntFrom what you have written it does sound like he fancies you, but like you is to she to say anything. So consequently the signs come across as flirtatious gestures. Next time he flirts with you flirt back, try to hold eye contact with him for a few seconds then smile and look away. playfully touch him when you get a chance, and try to be interested in what he does, or is doing, and laugh at things he says, even if you dont find it funny.

When you think you have got a good raport going ask him if he fancies doing something one evening or weekend.

Good luck x
