reader, anonymous, writes (14 January 2013): Maybe they are her favourites? I buy my underwear for myself because it makes me feel good, much like getting my nails or hair done would. In fact it's a common confidence trick in women's magazines - wear nice underwear for no reason and it puts a bit of a spring in your step (google it if you want). I do it for me and it's just a bonus that my boyfriend likes it. I really wouldn't worry unless you have another reason to be suspicious. Oh and anon-e-mouse, your analogy about condoms is so off the mark it's untrue! Condoms are used for sex only, underwear is an everyday necessity and is not just for the sexual pleasure of a man.

I would go with my spouse or with my girlfriends.
with my GFs would be planned far in advance.
NO sexy nighties would be taken... more than likely it would be tee shirts and shorts or sweats for sleeping... sexy nighties are usually not comfortable....
To me this is a big HUGE RED FLAG.

What a load of rubbish!
Again, not a popular answer but something here is definitely wrong. A little holiday romance is what this one is after I'm afraid. Let us know what happens.

What do you mean "what does this mean?". Something is seriously WRONG here. This is a BIG RED FLAG.
She spinning you a line here. She's not trustworthy. She's OUT. Walk away. Cut all contact and move on.
The fact she's going on holiday without you is bad enough. Why would she want to go away without her boyfriend? Her sweetheart? I'll tell you why... You're on the way out buddy.
Get rid of this one and don't be there when she gets back.
Find a woman you can trust and who wants to be with you.

I would frame this with your other suspicions. If you think shes the type to cheat or is giving you other clues, Id say it does mean something. If the converse is true, I wouldnt pay it too much mind....

Daisy has a valid point, women don't take their old underwear when they're going to travel, they will take the ones they'll feel better wearing.
And you are not considering her point, if she keeps all her underwear together, there's a huge chance she didn't notice she packed her sexy lingerie too. Maybe she was in a hurry, or maybe she forgot to pack her undies and she remembered at the last minute.
If she's never lied to you before theres no reason to doubt her now. I think you should believe her and ask her to reassure you that she won't have a fling

 It doesn't necessarily mean anything, it depends on other things.
A woman's underwear can fall into 2 categories: nice/ sexy, or everyday. I guess there's a third category of super sexy or raunchy stuff that some women have. Anyway, when I go on holiday, I don't take along faded or greying undies. I take the nice/ sexy stuff. And it's not because I intend to show it (or anything else) to a man, I just want to feel good in my nicest things.
But if your girlfriend has some super sexy/ raunchy lingerie which she took away with her, and her going off on holidays without you is uncharacteristic, it could well be seen as a cause for concern.

Although there is certainly the possibility that she grabbed whatever was in her panty drawer, that seems a little hard to believe unless she was pressed for time.
