CindyCares agony aunt No you don't have to be married.

You must have though a letter of hiring from your perspective Turkish employer which must be sent for approval to the Turkish Consulate in your country. Once you get that, you submit it with your application, with 4 pics, passport photocopy and other paperwork that the Consulate will tell you, to the Ministry of work in Turkey.

Ask for all details to:www.turkishconsulate.org.UK.

myp agony auntTurkey is the only muslim state that sepereates religion from law but the problem is the social structure of turkey is mostly comprised of muslim religious law. i.e. no fornication, so I think that as for as work goes you might just be able to get a visa, but you might want to check in on local custom to see whats socially appropriate for that area, because as unrelated as they seem in western culture theyre actually very closely intertwined in the middle east and turkey, for instance if you got a job and your employers found out you were living with a man and unmarried the rumors themselves could get you fired or harassed. So check into everything, and as i said you shoud just be able to get a visa, if you want the equivalent of a green card in the US then you might have to marry him but I know that in other muslim countries that if you marry a man who is a citizen of a muslim state often times you automatically become a citizen just by default.

good luck :]
