Question - (27 April 2010) 1 Answers - (Newest, 27 April 2010)
A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I had protected sex with my boyfriend on April 23. My period came about the 5 of April and I was ovulating all the wk from 19 until the 23 (fertile). My question is we used a condom (it did not break) and he pull out before he came. To be on the safe side after an hour and half I went to get plan B. What are the chances I can get pregnant? This month has been a stressful month, and now I'm stressing about being pregnant can this also delay my period?

chigirl agony auntStressing out can make you miss your period, yes. For me when I stress out real bad I get my period, and then another period again when I was actually supposed to get it.. But a friend of mine missed her period several times due to stress and other medical reasons.

However, using a condom is protection enough, and even if you want to be 100% safe (condom is what 99%?), I suggest you start taking the birth control pill instead of the plan B pill. Plan B is usually more expencive and should not be used as birth control. It is only for emergencies. Also, if you have a moral opinion on abortions you should know that several morning after pills are in fact an abortion. It gets rid of any fertilized eggs. Plan B is not an abortion pill, so if you already are pregnant it wouldn't help you.
