so i went bareback riding on the pavement on my friends horse who i lease....obviously dumb idea i realize now...she got spooked and galloped off and i fell and held the reighns and got dragged and she kept rearing so i let go....she stayed still..i had to get back on and ride home...she seemed fine so i cooled her off and put her in her stall...i told the owner and of course was mad at first....then the next day she realized her horse was hurt and had to call the chiropractor and pop her hip back in place...she wasnt answering my texts and so i just said im sooo sorry for what happened send the bill i know a major reason why you had me lease ur horse is that you trusted me with her and that i wouldnt hurt her and i really fucked up...she texted back saying pavenment is really bad for horses i know ur sorry and she will be fine in a few days...if im still leasing i need to pay her tomorrow for next month but i dont know if she wants me too anymore...she is a great person and a good friend and i see her offen....im afraid i ruined our friendship and i dont know what to do......help please......and also i am feeling dizzy a lot...the fall happened 2 days ago and i landed on my head and im wondering if im ok and if iminternally bleeding....i feel sick...

Sweety Pie agony auntPeople are very attached to their animals thats why they over react when they get hurt.

I dont know why you thought galloping on a pavement was a good idea... but whats done is done. If your a novice with horses, those who know more sometimes forget what its like.

Id apologise profusly to the owner, even get her a little gift, and take the horse some carrots or something! Show your really sorry and with a bit of luck she may forgive you.

Next time think about the horses welfare before your own!

Good Luck xx

pinkgoblin15 agony auntDude I fell on a rock head first when i was camping when i got up my head was ringing like crazy and i couldnt hear in it and I felt like i was drunk with a stomach ache the doctor said i was fine LOL You should be safe but if the pain continues i would see a doc. And it sounds like to me that your friend isn't really that upset about the horse. I would give her a little time to cool off tho

Were you wearing a helmet? I hope so. If not, you will definitely want to go get checked out.

When I was about 14 my horse threw me and I hit my head on a paved road we were crossing at the time. If I hadn't had the helmet, I'd have been in a world of trouble. I know I had a concussion because I had memory loss and (people tell me) repetitive questioning right after the incident. But I've had no long-term ill effects, and this was seven years ago.

Basically, if you were wearing a helmet and have no neck or back pain, you're probably all right. The dizziness is a bit concerning, though, so if it persists or gets worse, go see your doctor...whether you had a helmet on or not.

Honeypie agony auntWhy haven't you gone to the ER yet?

I lost about 50% of my hearing in my right ear after a fall from a horse, he got spooked and jumped sideways and I apperently just went forward. I had a concussion. Nothing serious, though, was told to take it easy and stay at home. I went about business as usual and the result was a severe hearing loss.

Cement, pavement = bad surface to ride on. If she EVER lets you on her horse again I hope you have a bit more respect and THOUGHT and find a suitable place to ride.

I'm guessing you didn't bother with a helmet either?

If that was my horse you would be banned.

Well I think she should have told you about what was good and bad for the horse in the first place. Unless you told her you already knew everything?

People make mistakes, and it sounds like it was an honest mistake for you. Maybe just take a break for a month or two and let your friend cool down.. Just make sure she knows it was a mistake.

Also, you may have got a concussion. See a doctor if you can.
