Dear Uncles and Aunts

I have noticed sometimes some of you are replying to questions that are so outdated. I cannot help but ask, don't you look at the dates of the questions?

It is annoying to see some of you answering these outdated questions, not to mention how sometimes you all flock together to answer certain questions and yet, some questions remain unanswered for days. Why? Are you not capable of answering it? Or is it just easier to answer something that somebody else already answered? Forgive me for this tiny bit of what might sound like "criticizing", but I do hope you will take note of the content and not see this as judging your good work and efforts, but rather as an eye opener and an indicator to where there is room for improvement.

Thanks for a great site.

hlskitten agony auntHere is a classic example of aunts not reading peoples posts before answering themselves if ever there was one. And quite right so really. Proof that people aren't influenced by other peoples opinions...

dearkelja agony auntI'll add that sometimes we get emails from the posters of questions asking us to look at it and give our advice. So we do. I have.

I also try to respond to questions that do not have answers and realize there is a time delay for some answers to be posted to the site so we don't always know some are being answered and some are not.

And lastly, I too try to stick to questions I feel I have the experience to answer...in my free time as well.

DoubleM agony auntDid not know that there was a time limit to volunteering advice or opinion on any question, because no time limit exists. Perhaps you are a newbie. Welcome! Check it out thoroughly and then, try taking at shot at some of the questions yourself . . . on your own free time. That's what we are doing.

hlskitten agony auntVery noble. But some of us dont even read other peoples answers before we post our own. Not all, granted, but I expect most. I know what you mean about grouping, but I personallly dont see how many posts there are to a question. I see the title of the question and act on that. If its boring I scoot past it. If its interesting, I read it. If its really interesting, I might well answer it!

Sometimes people do answer outdated questions because they might not look at the date of the original question. I just responded to a month old question because an anonymous person came on and asked a question about his situation instead of asking a new question. I also only answer questions that involve things where I have some life experience. I don't try to answer questions about situations that I have not experienced myself because I can't relate to the persons problem. I also don't answer every question on a subject that I do feel like I can contribute to because there just too many of them on that subject and I either don't have the time of I just get tired of writing the same thing over and over again. Sometimes I just limk to one on the same subject. Some questions are either not clear, don't have enough information or are so touchy that some of us might be afraid that we will do more harm than good. As shandygirl said, we are not professionals. We answer the ones that we have time for, can relate to or feel that we can make a difference on. Sometimes we seem to all answer the same question because there are a varity of ways to handle that situation and we all want to offer our individual take on the subject.

shandygirl agony auntI don't know how everyone else feels about your observation and inquirey, but we are not professional psychiatrists honey. We are all just regular people who are older and wiser... been there, and done most of that... kind of people.

I don't answer some of the questions because I don't have the TIME to answer them all ( I have a life, this is just something I when I have spare time), or they are recurring, or some of them don't sound a like sincere problem, or I just don't know how to answer it because I can't relate.

Like being a homosexual, or being in love with your cousin, or medical questions.

Why don't you answer some of them yourself?

Take care XXX

Many people live in different parts of the world. So, many have different time zones. Not all everyones can be answering. Yet true many are left unanswered. As im only 13, i cant help out on much. I still do my best...today, i've noticed doing my best doesnt help. Some may find it easier to answer a question already answered. Outdated questions?....um....that...i dont know.
