guys may feel it is embarrasing.

guys are pressured at that age to have sex and if they dont have it they are outcasted.

that guy probably thinks hes the big guy cos hes not a virgin but you DON'T wanna listen to guys like that.

pgissyd agony auntQuote "well there are a group of well chavs and they have all had sex and the boy calls them "skets" and "slags".so what does that make him?"

Im guessing a sket is a male form of slag? If so then he would be a sket lol.

Sweety you are still a child, you shouldnt be worrying about sex at your age, your body isnt even fully formed yet, though if you were to have sex, you could still get a girl pregnant, you want to be a dad at your age?

This kid is obviously a moron, gnore him and and friends, they all need to grow up.

Take care xxxxxx

A male reader, Samutsen Poland +, writes (22 November 2007):

Samutsen agony auntI strongly think that you should just treat that statement as a joke. And he is just a boy. But when I was growing up and trying to get other girls laid we wwould tell them sleeping is perfectly normal no love has to be involved etc etc.

Virginity is not a shame. It is not a shame at any age. What is shame is a 15 year old girl or boy having sex...

x_goddess_x agony auntI'm 16 and I'm proud to tell people that I'm a virgin, you lose it when you have met the right person or are ready in yourself to lose it, not because everyone else is or you're getting older and it gets embarrassing. Virginity is a personal thing and it's up to you what you do with it (if that makes sense)

Frank B Kermit agony auntFor some boys, it is. It certainly is for him, and many males feel this way.

For some girls, being a virgin represents them in a positive light, and they are not embarassed at all, but in fact, could be proud of it.

This is one of those generalizations where men and women are simply different.

love-him agony auntThis boy, is very silly to say things like this. Ignore him, being a virgin at 14 is completely normal and legal.. to have sex under 16 is illegal :) please dont listen to people like that, he is trying to show off. Stay safe and dont do anything you dont want to. Feel free to mail me about anything :) x

A female reader, ..Jess.. Canada +, writes (22 November 2007):

It most definitely is NOT embarrassing!!! I think that it's something to be proud of. I'm not sure I agree that you should base the "right age" on the age of consent (no offense!), but I just think you should wait until you have found someone very special and willing to wait until you feel completely at ease and ready. Otherwise, it will just jumpstart a negative sex life, and you don't want that!! :) seriously. The boy probably had a bad first experience and is trying to make others feel as bad as he does..just ignore him!!

pgissyd agony auntIt most certainly is NOT embarrassing!!! I would say if you had lost your virginity before the age of consent (was 16 not sure if it still is or if its gone up to 18 now) then thats embarrasing!!

Only fools go that far while they are still children.
