I know this isn't about relationships but I hope you can help me.

I would like to hear from anyone who has knowledge or experience about this.

How much smaller would a person's boobs be likely to get if they lost 30 pounds? Would they be likely to shrink at all?

I need to lose weight; I've talked to a trainer and agreed that 30 pounds is a safe, reasonable goal for me.

Is it likely they'd get smaller, and if so, how much smaller?

My boobs are gross! I think they resemble others and I'm hoping they get smaller. I don't want lose an unhealthy amount of weight, I'm 30 pounds away from the ideal weight for my height. Not a whole lot, but I don't want to lose more than that because that would be risky... I still wanna be healthy.

I would like to eventually have surgery, because I am so disgusted with the shape of my breasts. It makes me feel really bad about myself. I realize the internet isn't he best place to sseek medical advice, but I really want the surgery and would like to hear from anyone who's had it.

My mom tells me that it's too risky and I shouldn't do it, but life is too short to have to feel self-conscious and bad about yourself when you can do something about it.

How would that surgery be affordable? How safe is it?

Thanks for your help.

Not My Name agony auntI don't think you could guarantee it. See the post below for starters.

For myself, I put on weight and went up a cup size whilst pregnant - as you do. After having my son I lost the weight but still kept the larger cup size. Go figure.

k_c100 agony auntOk yes you will lose some weight off your chest - this is normally one of the first areas you lose weight as a woman because breasts are made up of fat mostly, so it is an easy place to lose a bit of weight. However, you wont lose loads of weight from your chest so dont hold out for that - the reduction in bra size will not be monumental! It is likely you might go down to a 34 around the back, and your cup size might reduce by 1, or it might just stay the same.

What I am going to point out is that your breasts are not particularly large - you have a fairly wide back if you are 36 inches around there, but your cup size which is the acutal breast is about average. So I think the problem here is the shape of your breasts, not the size. And losing weight will not make your breasts a nicer shape, they will look exactly the same but just a little smaller.

You need to get a proper bra fitting - I cannot stress how important this is! Any large department store should offer a bra fitting service - and most of them will do it for free. Wearing the wrong size bra all these years could be responsible for the shape of your breasts, if you are wearing a badly fitting bra with not enough support then it is very likely your breasts will start to droop and sag because you are not supporting them properly. Even though you cannot reverse the damage you have done so far, you can at least stop it from getting any worse, so go get measured and buy some well fitting bras! And get a very good sports bra if you are planning on exercising, otherwise you will end up with your breasts around your waist! I was first measured for a bra aged 13, and have been getting measured pretty frequently ever since. I am now nearly 23, with 34E breasts, and they are in a fantastic shape and not at all saggy or droopy. This just shows that you can have big boobs that look great naturally, as long as you are wearing a bra that fits you well.

I think whilst you are working out get your trainer to focus on your pectoral muscles and chest area - if you stregnthen the muscles behind the breast tissue then you can actually lift them a little.

Aside from that, and wearing a good bra, then there is not a lot else you can do to make your breasts a better shape aside from surgery. I dont think a reduction is neccessary, rather a breast lift would be a better idea once you have lost the weight. I know if I ever have kids I will be breast feeding, and the chances are my breasts will head south so I will be very open to having a breast lift in the future if needs be.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Hey,

I'm the original poster. Just one correction:

Instead of "they resemble others," I meant to say, "they resemble UDDERS."

I HATE my breasts! They're disgusting and make me feel ugly. I would love to have smaller breasts; I would actually like to have reduction surgery, but that isn't an option for me now... it's so embarrassing. Furthermore, I have read that if you're gonna have reduction surgery, and you're too fat elsewhere (not just big boobs but overweight all over) then it's imperative to lose the weight first because breasts could possibly shrink.

Aside from my breasts being too large, I actually need to lose the weight. I don't wanna be flat chested but I feel dumpy and unsexy. I'd like to have normal boobs that look like human breasts and not a cow's udder.

I consulted a trainer at the gym about my weight and they said that 30 pounds is safe, but no more than that.

I know that personality, brains, and talents are fundamentally more important but I feel really uncomfortable. I just don't feel like myself! I feel like I'm in someone else's body.

I'm not sure what my bra size is. I wear a 36C and it seems to fit me okay but I've read that most women wear the wrong bra size... for some reason they look huge in proportion to the rest of me.

Breasts are made mostly of fat, so you will definitely lose weight there. Your back and cup size will get smaller. I can't say for sure how much smaller because everybody is different, though.
