Hi please help. Does anyone know, if my husband gets retrenched will I be held liable for the maintenance for his child with his ex girlfriend? Thanks.

I don't know. I do know that I am liable for my husband's tax debt from his business which I have nothing to do with. But somehow when he doesn't pay up the government comes after me because I am his spouse and this is a longstanding cause of conflict in our marriage.

Honeypie agony auntI know in the US you can not be held liable for the child-support of your stepchildren. If you have doubts though, you should contact a barrister.
