writes:i have this male friend and we texted all the time about anything. we did go on a date when we first met but he wasnt ready for anything. its been a couple of months since then, now hes suddenly gone distant on me. before that he would text stuff like he was texting a girlfriend but then panicked as he snapped back to realising he was saying this to his friend (me). any idea why he has gone quiet on me? if he was dating he would say so i know its not that as we are very open when it comes to talking about relationships

Two things could be going on...
1) Single friends normally go distant when they have found someone, and spend most of there time with that person.
2) He has feelings for you, knows he is getting to close, and decides to back off before things get stronger.
If he is not ready to settle down, then he will most likely back off.
