Why does he seem to be avoiding me now?

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I asked out my crush a month ago. He told me he wouldn't go out as a couple but he would as friends. For about 2 weeks he avoided me. And all of a sudden he stares at me whenever I'm with my best guy friend. And he's starting to look at me every once in a while. And yesterday, he was right next to me and I didn't even notice. And usually he tries to be as far away from me as possible. Apparently shot my best guy friend a dirty look. Other than that, he tries to avoid me. The only words he's spoken to me in the past 2 weeks are hola (and I wasn't even saying that to him he was right next to me but I was facing someone else, he was almost right past me) and sorry (and he said this kinda happy like, it was wen I was walking past his desk after calling to my friend who sits behind him, and he just happen to stand up at that time.)

My best guy friend says he's jealous and misses the attention I used to give him, and another says he looks at me once in a while. And before I asked him out, he told one of my friends that I was cute but just wanted to be friends. And when I invited him to a movie he went, and didn't ask who was going. But all he does is seem to avoid me now. What's going through his head? Does he somehow like me?

NO, HE DOESN'T LIKE YOU. IF HE LIKED YOU - HE WOULD BE YOUR BOYFRIEND. He made it clear to you that he just wants to be friends. The guy told you what more do you want. Don't make something out of nothing (he's staring, he says hola.)

Move on.
