 I didn't read your first question... however, who cares what people think? If you guys are both on the same level and you really, really like each other, well - go for it. When you're twenty and he's twenty four, well that doesn't sound so bad, does it?
Sounds like you've got a nice guy on your hands, and I'd just go for it. If other people talk, whatever - if you're happy, you're happy. (and I'm happy for you!)
