A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hi, I am in need of some advice from a male perspective! I wont bore everyone with a long story so basically I met this guy the other day after he came round to my house to carry out some work. From the moment I opened the door I thought "wow"! We chatted for a while and he ended up staying a lot longer than he should have (and he also gave me stuff for free which he really shouldn't have done :-) ). Now when he was leaving his exact words were "I will leave you my number in case you have any problems or you want to get in touch"...Please can any of you guys tell me what he means by the "want to get in touch" bit? Is that man talk for "I would like to see you again" or is it me just reading too much in to it? I'm not very good when it comes to the male species lol what do I do, send him a text or just forget I ever met him? Any replies will be greatly appreciated! :-)

DoubleM agony auntTo "rhythmandblues2" I just think that it may be a subtle hint. Generally it would not be wise to mix business with an obvious come on. That can get a person fired, but by leaving a phone number and a hint, it gives the woman an opportunity to later indicate interest. Many women are quite forward these days.

RAINORFIRE agony auntInteresting Honeslty im not sure im sutch a straight forward guy, i dont want to be waitng around for her to call me if she calls me and how often does the girl make the first call. if hes a sales man maybe he is just securing a customer he sounds very proffesional actually thats a smooth line but it would only be good if you where damn sure the girl was gonna call and in this case your not sure what to do so the whole time he was at your house what did you talk about did he give you the impression that he liked you is he single etc or did he just talk business. I could have just been habbit it becomes routine to hand out your number after awhile in some professions.

OK heres what you do theres no way to kno what he meant but if you where into the guy you owe it to yourself to find out so call him and ask him whats the worst that can happen.

So Double M, should she be insulted by that, say if she wants to be asked out on a date. Should he have asked for her number then?
