What could be the reason for very bad luck? Like you do everything right in life, it is really not your fault, but you get the worst luck of day, after day. I'm talking about really bad stuff here.NO ,I don't think it makes sense to go into details , as it it is always subjective how do you feel about things. But I\m just asking theoretically, what can someone do, if the bad stuff does not stop.. How can you prevent it if you did everything right, yet it still happened? Is there curse, or bad karma? What do you think?

DoubleM agony auntWell, I certainly feel unlucky at times, like for most of the past few years. But I found a penny on the ground the other day. First I took a step or two by, then stepped back and picked it up.

I know it's silly superstition that, if you find a penny in your path and grab it, you will be lucky. I'm currently a commission-only salesman on a recent bad streak of luck, it seems. Less than an hour after picking up that silly penny, I made a sale and will net about $80. Was that good luck in action? Just because I spent a few seconds to stop and pick up something worth practically nothing?

How many pennies have I spotted on the ground and walked right on by? How many did I walk past without noticing them at all? Does it matter?

Over just the past few years, I have driven many thousands of miles (kilometers) at speeds of 70 miles per hour, more or less, on highways and byways amidst other drivers, some of whom are total idiots. I had to trust that the other drivers were also being careful, and while knowing that many may be momentarily negligent, distracted, stupid or worse. Yet I'm still alive. Is that lucky?

Sometimes, although I'm basically a very safe driver, I've made some moves in traffic that were totally stupid. I was the idiot, or I was momentarily distracted, but I did not kill myself or anyone else. Was that lucky?

Summary: I just have to believe that if still alive in this world today, and it applies to anyone in history who was "lucky" enough to survive a good number of years, it's somewhat lucky. Or is is being careful? Or is it God's will? If I die in a terrible car crash today, am I unlucky?

Life is an adventure, isn't it? Just be glad to be alive while it lasts.

Thanks , but I don\t think it's the matter of positive thinking. I think ,in some case maybe yes. But not ,when the drinking driver kills your kid, and next day, your house burns down... and than your husband leaves, than you lose your job...etc

It is not my story, but something close to that...

So this is pure bad luck, it not about wishing game.. I hope you can understand this, please do!! Also it is not about you are in control.Your control ,is not always in your control...

That is what I'm talking about. And not ,that I'm making bad choices, or I'm always in a bad mood kind of thing..

Aunty BimBim agony auntSometimes lots of bad stuff can happen to the nicest people. And there is no explanation for it. One lady I know is now 83 and she has seen such tragedy in her life, it makes me cry.

I don't believe her life is the result of Karma, or debts from another incarnation, I don't believe a God gave her those burdens because he/she knew she would live through them, I think it was just that stuff happened.

I thought I was cursed as well at one point. Sometimes, I'm still convinced. But that's an easy way to point blame at something else. The truth is, one bad decision somewhere leads to another, that leads to another. If it all looks like it's going to hell at the momemt, look back over the past few months, or even years, and see if there was one bad decision you made that made you make other bad decisions. Then try to fix it.

Well actually the moon has been following the fouth shakra in the heavenly dome this past month. I have been keeping an eye on Jupiter and his moons. The feeling I get is that this will not be a good time for you to start a romance or business venture. Where blues and reds to ward off any negative energy that may surround you and light some incense later next week.

Good luck

pancakes rule agony auntI don't believe in karma or curses, just somethings turn out worse for some people then they do for others. If you feel that you're doing everything right, then I can't give you any advice, especially if I don't know what the bad stuff is. All I can say is that I hope for the best for you, and after two awful years I went though, I do really empathise with how you feel.

good luck

A female reader, AskEve United Kingdom +, writes (20 November 2009):

AskEve agony auntOkay I saw this question and had to answer here. YOU make your own destiny. YOU are in control! It all depends on your own thought process. If you keep thinking (as you do) that nothing you do is working to turn things around then you are putting out negative thoughts into the universe. In other words - Thought is pure energy. Every thought you have, have ever had, and ever will have is creative. The energy of your thought never ever dies. Ever! It leaves your being and heads out into the universe, extending forever. A thought is forever.

All thoughts congeal; all thoughts meet other thoughts, criss-crossing in an incredible maze of energy, forming an ever-changing pattern of unspeakable beauty and unbelievable complexity. Like energy attracts like energy – forming (to use simple words) “clumps” of energy of like kind. When enough similar clumps criss-cross each other – run into each other – they stick to each other. It takes an incomprehensibly huge amount of similar energy “sticking together”, thusly, to form matter. But matter will form out of pure energy. In fact, that is the only way it can form. Once energy becomes matter, it remains matter for a very long time – unless its construction is disrupted by an opposing or dissimilar form of energy. This dissimilar energy, acting upon matter, actually dismembers the matter, releasing the raw energy of which it was composed. Are you keeping up?

Have you ever got up one morning and stubbed your toe on your bed? You go to brush your teeth and some of the toothpaste spills on your blouse? Instantly, when these simple things happen you emit negative energy out into the universe. It carries on... you go to work but the traffic lights always seem to be at red! Until you turn your thoughts in to POSITIVE thoughts then you will continue to bring negative energy to you... causing negative things to happen to you or as you put it "bad luck!"

Turn your thoughts around, tell yourself "success is coming to me now." Then believe! These positive vibes will fly out into the universe and stick to more POSITIVE energy thus bringing better things to happen in your life.

Don't believe me? Try it... it really DOES work!
