We use the pull out method for birth control but now I'm worry I might be pregnant!

A female Canada age 30-35, *-Help writes:

Possibly pregnant-but don't know how to find out..

I'm a 20 year old university student who recently had intercourse with my boyfriend.

Due to medical issues I can't take birth control and he can't use condoms. We have been using the pull out method(yes I know there are risks). Two weeks ago-he didn't quite pull out fast enough.

I am now worried about pregnancy and though neither of us expected a child at this moment-we would be able to love and care for it.

I should mention that due to medical issues my menstrual cycle is extremely irregular(in fact-I was on medication that suppressed my menstrual cycle for over a year=no periods at all up until this past December.)

So how long should I wait to get tested and by which method considering the irregularities of my menstrual cycle?

I know it's harsh but unless you want kids I don't think your sexually compatiable.

L-Help is verified as being by the original poster of the question

I would like to clarify that he is in fact allergic to latex, polyurethane condoms(latex-free alternative) as well as lubricants. ....He's allergic to some very bizarre things all of which have been confirmed by his parents so no-he's not making it up.

As for the copper IUD- I have previously asked my doctors(family practitioner and gynecologist) about different methods of birth control and none were recommended due to the nature of my medical conditions.

I really do appreciate your feedback and suggestions and would like to note that if I still haven't started my menstruel cycle by the end of the week I will be taking a pregnancy test-I just dont know how efective it will be.

The pull out method is a terrible idea! There's always some sperm coming out before even ejaculating!

I definitely agree with the other person on here...he can't use condoms? Sounds like he is either full of it, or if he is genuinely allergic to latex, there are non-latex condoms out there, and they aren't hard to find.

person12345 agony auntA doctor will be the best to tell you if you're pregnant. Why can't he use condoms? If he's allergic to latex then there are non-latex ones. There's also the copper IUD for you. The pull-out method is not effective for this very reason. You need to use a condom if you can't take hormonal birth control. No glove, no love!

How is he unable to use condoms?? Latex allergy? If he has one his doctors will have showed him latex free condoms, so if that what he says he is lying to you so he can have unprotected sex. Look up non latex condoms if you don't believe me.

Yes your probably pregnant. Take a test
