A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I met a boy last week who I really like and thought liked me. We swapped numbers and he said he wanted to take me out for a drink. He was really nice to me and kept kissing me but I know he had been drinking.

Anyway, a week later and he still hasnt made any contact and then I see him out at the weekend. He came over to me and hugged and kissed me, I asked why he didnt call he said his cousins had come down from Scotland for a week and was busy. He promised to call me the next day and was really nice to me again. The next day however, he didnt call but sent a text but saying he was ill in bed and couldnt meet me. That was 2 days ago and I havnt heard from him since. I dont know what this all means? Does he like me or not? He seems to really like me when we see each other out but when it comes to contacting me afterwards it never happens!!! Why are some men like this? I really like him, should I forget it and move on?

nologo agony auntYou will get two different explanations from me.

However, maybe there are more ways to treat it.

First, relationship of this type is not a priority for him.

Therefore he's nice to you, but doesn't express initiative.

Second, his motivation to meet you was caused by drinking.

In that case it means he is not so much interested in you.

You asked "should I forget it and move on?" - confront him.

DV1 agony auntHe may be afraid of commitment,or he may just be having a really crazy week. I think that we've all been through that. Give him the benefit of the doubt.
