No you shouldn't do it.

It's her stuff to take back. She should take it back herself and if it is dodgy them she is showing herself as a crap friend because she would be willing to get you into a lot of trouble.

My friend did this to me when I was about 16 - said she hated taking things back so asked me to do it for her. Nothing happened but it easily could have and I was so mad when she told me afterwards. No real friend would put you in a position where you could get into trouble so say no.

A male reader, CMMP United States +, writes (5 February 2013):

She stole them. They'll ask you for ID and put you in the system when you make a return. Then if you start making too many returns they'll ban you from making any more because they assume they're stolen. That's what happened to her.

I know this because I found out a girlfriend was stealing from a store because they became suspicious when she was trying to return something expensive, easily stolen and rarely sold. They asked her when she and where she bought it. She told them some bs answer and they actually looked at the video tape to see that she didn't buy anything.

They took the item back from her and told her if she didn't like it she can call the police knowing she wasn't going to do it.

Unless your friend broke her leg you shouldn't return them. I'd also avoid shopping with her.

Trust your instincts. I wouldn't take them back and you can get into trouble, which is why your "good friend" is attempting to sucker you into being her fall guy.

You know s/he is no friend of yours, respond accordingly.

So_Very_Confused agony auntHOW did she pay for them... if she says CASH...then I would be suspicious of it... I mean why can't SHE return them?

if she says charge or check... there should be a record....once you see it (and print it to take to the store) then you can do it for her...
