jessica-lea agony aunthey :)

I am in exactly the same position as you, i am currently taking my GCSE's. The replys that you had to this question are really good and i would recomend the same advice.

When doing coursework and revision, dont attempt to do both in one night. Space it out and always tackle revision for a closer exam first. Dont start revision on an exam you have got 3 weeks away when you have got one next week! Make sure that you have revised everything you need to know for the first exam before you move onto the next.

I find that talknig to a parent or friend about what coursework and exams you have got helps, it gives you a sense of reasurance. And you will find that other friends are stressed aswell!

Remember that you can only do you best and dont over work yourself.

Good luck :)

MidnightSky agony aunthey :)

i know how you feel, ive just finished my exams (thank god!!) and i never felt more stressed over school than i had done over the past few weeks! and on top of revision theres coursework from every other subject isnt there? bloody school :L i would sit down to start something and then just suddenly feel overwhelmed and bury my head in my hands and sob,but id be too tired to cry properly lol!

you could try writing out a routine, leveling work and relaxing and going out. you could get your mom or a teacher or someone to help you organise your time if you like?

well for me, i found it really hard to stick to a 'timetable' kinda thing, i found myself just not wanting to do it when it came round to do whatever was written down.

i think you should let yourself have a good old cry and get it all out your system and start afresh. if you gotta watch your saddest movie or listen to a song that makes you sad/cry, then do so, because sometimes even actual crying can help and feels good sometimes! as weird as it may sound :P

remember to defintley not over work. especially on revision. 20 min-30 min bursts of revision is recommened, and always swap what your learning about so you can keep focused and concentrate. i recently found bitesize is really good, you can do these audio activites and answer the questions and then do a little multiple choice test and i remembered a lot from that. as for your coursework, try having your music on in the background, i found it went quicker becasue i was just singing along and typing things up at the same time, it went faster for me :) but don't have it too loud :P

i remember feeling 'urgh i just cant do this!' and wanted to crawl into bed and put my ipod on lol. infact, you can do that if you like :) and then do a bit of revision/coursework, and then have a dance around to some tunes lol or have something to eat or watch a tv programme, then do a little bit more. you don't have to constantly work, thats even worse than maybe falling behind a bit you know, if it gets to the point when youre so so stressed you want to cry all the while and feel you have no extra time whatso-ever, it shouldnt be like that. over working is not healthy, and there are other options to divide your time up and work the good way!

hope i helped :P good luck with it all! i'm sure you'll do great! XD x

betty_black agony auntYou neeed to level out school work and social life. You cant work and have no play at all! Its gonna wind up effecting your work and make you sad and depressed. I found GCSE's too much to handle as well, its normal, you've gone from not having to worry about much to suddenly having to worry about the rest of your life within the space of a few months! I know how stressful it is. You need to calm it a bit and keep at least one day a week free for your social life! And dont over work, limit the hours you work at home and try doing more of it in school if possible.
