 Yes, sure you can. As the others have said, will just be more messy and take more cleaning up.
My only reservation about orgasms and sex during my period is that it can make everything 'flow' a bit faster, as it were, and I don't like that! So I tend to abstain, through fear of bleeding to death .... ; ) But then I'm a big wuss!!

reader, anonymous, writes (9 August 2008): There is no reason why you cannot use your vibrator whilst having your periods; but from a hygiene point, I suggest use a condom over the vibrator; much less trouble to clean it afterwards.

Yep, it'll just be a little messier than usual.
You could have sex on your period if you wanted but most people find the smell and the fact there is blood everywhere is a bit off putting.

 Of course you can. In fact, many women find that they masturbate more during their period, since they are often more aroused at this time and the orgasms help their cramps.
You just need to make sure that you're cleaning your vibrator after every use (which you should be doing anyway)--use soap and hot water for most basic vibes, or a sex toy cleaner. Let them dry completely before you put them away.
