Now I'm reticent to express my feelings to her.

A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I know there is a social idea that people who are inexperienced with relationships get attached too quickly and think what they are feeling is love. I haven't had many relationships and I know that I definitely fell into this category for my first relationship.

I've had this coversation with my current girlfriend who is way more experienced than I and now I'm afraid to express my feelings because I don't want her to think that it's my inexperience, but I actually do love her.

I know that I shouldn't be afraid to express myself, but what are the opinions out there about hearing "I love you" from someone with minimal relationship experience. Am I over-thinking this?

Feelings are natural and nothing to do with how much experience you have. You will need to be honest to build a strong relationship, so just tell her!

Blue_Angel0316 agony auntWhen you feel it just say it! Love is a very strong emotion. If you love her she may already know cause LOVE comes out in many ways. Actions they say speak louder than words.......now it's time for the Word to Speak for itself.

Just be prepared to accept her response. It hopefully will be what you want, it by chance it isn't, don't worry because sometimes it takes a bit longer for one to feel than the other.

God bless,

agneeman agony auntI'm inexperienced too. But I'd love to hear "I love you" from a guy who does. I think all girls do. If she doesn't, perhaps she's cynical due having been hurt. If that counts for anything...
