Hi there,

My friend (though not a very close friend) has recently been tempted into using amphetamines or "speed" tablets to help her lose weight. She used to be anorexic and is set on doing this despite me strongly adivising her not to.

She was planning on taking a tablet a day for about a week and I was wondering what the risks of this would be? And what I should do to help her?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Fairy_Lu agony auntAonrexia is a disease its one you are never cured of you are only ever in recovery and diet pills will effect her recovery you need to tell someone before she slips into her old habbits, if she isnt listeing to you maybe she will listen to her parents but you cant let her do this, be strong for her and tell someone who can help her

Tell this story to her teachers and family. Be anonymous by letter if you must. By telling you she is yelling for help. Be a tough love friend.

if she has a past of anorexia, taking weight loss tablets will more than likely send her into a relapse of it which is the last thing you want, try talking to her telling her how worried you are, i no she doesnt seem to want to listen but if you talk to her maybe even try and find out what brought the tablet idea about because if you can find that problem you mite be able to find the solution

hope this helped
