Women do not have to have an orgasm to conceive, however, folk wisdom suggests that it can help, by guiding the sperm past the cervix with the muscle contractions. Here's one site I found that has some reasonable information: http://www.parentingweekly.com/preconception/preconception_information/orgasms_and_fertiilty.htm
I do hope you are trying to help her have orgasms! Does she know how to have one? Remember, only one-quarter to one-third of women reach orgasm through penile penetration alone, the rest need clitoral stimulation, either manual or oral. Have fun figuring it out!

No. A woman need not have an orgasm in order to conceive. If that were so, very few if any rape victims would become pregnant.
That said, female orgasm is believed to increase the chances of conception because during it, sperm may be drawn up to the cervix, which means they don't have to swim quite as far.
