I forget the name of it, but all I know is I don't want to get it. Recently I've been doing it a lot more, and I'm a little worried that I could get it.Can anybody confirm my fears, or is it all just a big lie?Lastly, I've started doing it for long periods of time. Going for about an hour before finally finishing. I wonder if this does more harm than doing it several times a day. Please help!

From what I have read, Fade878 is correct about desensitization. I have read several articles and self reports where it has happened. A man can grip his penis more firmly than most any vagina can. If a man gets too used to the pressure that he can apply himself then the pressure and sensations that he gets from a vagina may not be sufficient to get him to orgasm. This does not mean that masturbation will be more enjoyable than sex with a woman who a man has feelings for. It will not. However, excess masturbation may make it more difficult to have an orgasm when he is with a woman,
Fade is also correct about orgasm and ejaculation being separate. As women can orgasm without ejaculation, so do some men. They are separate functions, but it is normal that they occur together. Mine used to begin at exactly the same time, at least as far as I could perceive. For the past few months, I now start to ejaculate about 10 seconds before my orgasm starts. No, I didn't use a stopwatch. That is my estimate. My wife also had a boyfriend who had no reaction to his ejaculation. She only knew that he finished because he stopped and because of the wet spot.

Well you are men, and may not have any psychological issues that would further such a problem as losing the ability to ejaculate.
Too many people confuse, orgasms with ejaculations. They are two seperate matters.
Men and women experience head to toe orgams and may not necessarily ejaculate.
So with this, it is possible, and there are cases- to say it will never happen, because it never happened to you is fallacy. There are cases of where men have desensitized themselves, be it around the penis area, or in the mind, and in turn, this has affected their sex life with partners.
Too many men and women associate self pleasure, orgasm, and ejaculation as being one entity, and with this, lose the true purpose of sexual intamacy, and sexual health.

It is healthy to masturbate as often as you feel the need it will do you no harm whatsoever. Infections occur in onism only if you are not attending to personal health or hygeine and is not related to frequency of masturbation.
As for delaying ejaculation, this is a recommended practice in both medical and tantra teachings as this increases your ability to self-control when you are engaging in actual sex with a partner.
So you are doing absolutely fine, nothing to worry about at all.

Fade I hate to argue with a face like that but I am with anonymous. There will never ever never by any stretch of the imagination be a substitute for a vagina. God was on his game when he came up with them. And he put them in such pretty packages. Until you have a penis you might want to shy away from explaining what having one is like. When guys start telling you which hygiene products are better and more comfortable then blast away but for now ease up a little

It's not a problem. There were a couple of times when I was younger and I overdid it. The skin around my penis got a bit swollen. Infection? I don't know. It was a bit sore but got better in a day or two.
Masturbation has never stopped me enjoying intercourse more -- about 500 times more. Your own hand can never compare to a vagina. Just like touching yourself can never compare to someone else touching you.
Go for it and don't worry.

Fade has never had a penis. One's hand is NOWHERE near as firm, tight, or fun as a vagina. Also: In order for your hand to make you a sandwich when you're done, you have to get up and go to the kitchen.
Previous commenters who said that you might have trouble getting it up the same hour/day (depending on age, drive and stamina) as a masturbation sesh are on the money.
Previous commenters who said that porn desensitizes you to real women are right as well. Don't do it. I'm trying to quit. Blowjobs help!
In my experience, not flagellating your tallywhacker leads to higher sex drive, aggression, motivation, and better sex (when one gets it).
Remember, when you get in heat to beat your meat, it's probably just because you're bored and it feels good.
Try this: When you want to spank it, go for a run, do some push-ups or do something else physically exhausting instead. You'll wind up feeling and looking better, both of which will help you land a real girl -- who LOOKS like she should be in porn.

You can, in fact become desensitized and with this, since you are so capable of self stimulation, and you soley know how to pleasure yourself...a partner may pale in comparison and therefore you may be unable to ejaculate. It also effects sex drive.
Let's face it- a hand has a beter, tighter grip than most women's vaginas and you may become accustomed to that sensation.
It may take therapy to recondition a man in engaging in the natural act of sex with a partner.
If you are overly vigourous in masterbating...you may need to be so in the bedroom, and not too many woman partners can withstand the necessary roughness.
The difference of mind stimulation and body stimulation. For the dynamic of sexual intercourse between two people; the mind and it's ability to be excited and aroused so that it is intune with the body, makes all the difference.
I've experienced having a parnter that his self stimulation got in the way of him having orgasms with me. He became frustrated and our relationship ended.

A
reader, anonymous, writes (12 May 2008): No it can't do you any harm.
Repetitive strain injury? Maybe. But you really got to go at it for hours and hours to get real bad pains in your wrist! and then do it over and over again before you end up with RSI.
Friction burns? Well, if you can do it that fast then good luck to you. It's got to be worth it.
Muscle strain? That's possible. When you strain to "do it" you can pull muscles in your legs or abdomen. But no more than with any other type of exercise.
Round-shoulders? Maybe. But at your age you've nearly stopped growing, so any damage that's going to be done has already been done.
Look, seriously: as long as it's not the ONLY exercise you ever do, it's not going to do you any harm. At worst, and I do mean absolute worst, you're going to want to have sex with some girl and find you can't keep it up for long enough because you were masturbating too recently before you try to have sex... so try not to make it a habit that's hard to break!!

A

As far as I can tell there are a couple different things that can happen:
1) You will go blind.
2) You will grow hair on your palms.
3) You will go bald.
4) You will experience more acne.
5) You will most likely not be able to have children.
HA! Im just kidden, those are all MYTHS! There really are not any side effects of masturbation other than chaffing of the penis if you are not careful with the amount of pressure you use.
Do note that there is one side effect of masturbating and that is loss of sexual desire and ambition. Meaning, that when you finish you do not desire sex and usually do not have ambition to do many things except to sleep and zone out for about an hour :)
