A female age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Hi I am very confused, i think i am falling in love with my best friend, we are both 21yrs old. We are soul mates in that we think the same about everything and just laugh all the time we are together! anyways the problem is i dont think he is interested in me like that n i dont want to ruin our friendship by saying how i feel! is there any way i can determine how he feels without me coming straight out and saying it?? another problem is that we are college roommates and thus i cant afford for there to be tension...he calls me affectionate names in all his text messages, he gives me a hug everytime we are separating eg for bed, for lectures etc, he tells me everything including his past relationships and i tell him everything...all of our friends make jokes that we are secretly a couple and even a few lecturers have made remarks about us! however when this happens he just laughs it off and makes a joke out of it to me! can anybody tell me if they think my feelings are going anywhere cos right now i dont want to be with anyone but him?? thanks so much, all advice would be appreciated!

Can anyone be sure of a friendship between a male and a female? I think secretly there is always something there. Maybe you should just say - do you think we would be as good together as people seem to think? See where the converstaion takes you. If you are soul mates there is no chance of you falling out reguardless of what is said.
