A female Australia age 30-35, *aydeeOfSorrows writes:

I was wondering how to make a long distance relationship work?

My boyfriend and I have been together for a while, the only problem is that I've recently moved to a different state.

I really like him a lot, and he's head over heels, and we have a great relationship, but I don't know if it can survive being so far away from each other.

Any advice is appreciated!

Griffo agony auntHow far are you guys apart? In miles? Yes, communication is very important at least once per week on the phone. then every opportunity you can make be there. i think its really nice if you could take a bus or train every two weeks to be with him, if its too far id try once per month. then he should do the same to you and come over to yours.

if your still living with your parents, would they allow this?

It would be so special and sexually building if you did it that way. and yeah writing a hand written letter is very romantic too you guys should start communicating this way as well.

A reader, anonymous, writes (9 January 2009):

Communication is the utmost importance in maintaining a LDR. I must stress to you that you must EXPRESS your feelings and exchange as much as you can with your b/f whilst in a LDR so that you are both knowing how each other feels during the LDR, otherwise the ldr will perish. Secondly TRUST is the major key in keeping the LDR alive and believing in each other that you can survive the distance. Thirdly...if there is love...then you know that love conquers all :) GOOD LUCK!
