Late period after stopping contraceptive pills?

A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I have been on birth control for approximately 10 years. I did not take any pills last month..right now from the date that I started my last period, it has been 32 days. My question is, by not taking my pills, would that make my period this late?

aphexinfinite agony auntwith taking the pill it can alter your body as can stopping them so your body may just need time to readjust..so if you are worried then see your gp they will be able to give you more advice on the matter.. hope that helps aphexy
