Ladies: Is it more difficult to have orgasm if you've been drinking?

Well, hello, all, it's time to turn the tables :)

My question is simple; have any of you ladies noticed that if you drink regularly (1 drink a day for a week or more), orgasm takes longer and is more difficult to attain?

I usually don't have an issue with it, but the last week or two, I have been partaking of a drink a night, sometimes two. I took a couple days off in that period, but the drinking is more sustained than I'm used to (I would say, one drink every three or four days was my norm).

Emotionally, I've been great. I feel very close to my boyfriend and greatly enjoy making love with him. NOTHING seems different about our sex, up until the point that I WOULD have had an orgasm. Now there's a feeling of emotional release, but the physical one doesn't happen. Last night, we both had a ton of fun, but I *physically* could not orgasm. Eventually I had to give up and go to sleep. It could be that we've been having sex every day for the last week, and we're "sexed" out. Usually, though, frequent sex only makes me want it more.

I'm concerned, because...well, obvious reasons. I enjoy sex and enjoy coming together with my b/f. It's stressful to feel like I'm not able to. First thing to go is the booze, and see what happens.

Does anyone else have personal experience with this?

So_Very_Confused agony auntone drink should not impact you much but it can depend on lots of things

there are always days that it feels great but "i just cant' get there' even with myself.

best advice... shake it off and don't worry and don't try too hard to fix it... just let it happen... anxiety makes it worse.

Honeypie agony auntIt can be about where in your cycle, you are, but yes alcohol can make it harder to achieve an orgasm. For many women around ovulation it's easier the the rest of the months.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (4 July 2013):

Drinking makes me horny so it's easier for but every woman is different. I do go through phases that can last a couple of week when I can't orgasm not matter what we try.

I doubt if drinking is the problem but give it a little just see if not don't have sex for a news days and see what happens.
