A female Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I am a college student,i just started a new semester. I met this guy "Jake" who is simply amazing. We've had the class together for about 2 months, and it seemed like he liked me. We have almost absolutely everything in common. We make each other laugh and I'd find him staring at me. He made efforts to talk to me, he sat beside me every day, we flirted all the time. Then one day we were talking about an upcoming concert he was going to. I asked who he was going with. He said he girlfriend who he has never mentioned or hinted about. I brought her up once and asked how long they have been together, he said they have been dating for four years. i asked a few friends that are friends with him and they say its true and now ive confirmed that for myself i know they are a couple. i just dont understand i thought he liked me?

I think he just wanted you as a friend. I'm sure he does like you, but it won't go any further as long as he has a girlfriend. For your own sake, it might be worth pulling back a bit from him.
