thanks to everyone that has answered my question. i have to keep my appointment cuz im 19 weeks pregnant, so i am going to the doctor for sure. another thing i was wondering is if it could harm my baby or cause any complacations durning my pregnancy. i have heard that if left untreated for to long it will cause complications does anyone know for sure?

Sounds like thrush. If you're too embarrassed to see the doctor, (I was!) go to the chemist/pharmacy/drugstore and get some Vagisil cream or something similar. Or ask them which to go for. You can get tablets and stuff as well, should clear it up in a week.

Take care! x

A female reader, MissUnique United Kingdom +, writes (22 November 2008):

MissUnique agony auntIt could be a water infection or thrush. Go see your doctor, but put a hold on the sex until it's treated. Sex can cause infections to worsen and your partner may also catch something.

A male reader, DoubleM United States +, writes (22 November 2008):

DoubleM agony auntLikely a yeast infection as others suggest. First of all, no more sex until cured. Both you and your partner(s) will probably require treatment, which may involve a medication called Nystatin and/or other medications. Be comforted that the condition will clear up if you adhere to medical advice.

babewithbrains agony auntWell... if it hurts to have sex... don't have sex for a bit - it's making it worse! Well done for going to the doc, they'll sort you out. You can get over the counter meds for things like thrush etc. but go to the docs and see what s/he gives you.

Sounds like Thrush which is a yeast infection. Best to get it checked out though. You can apply natural yoghurt which soothes it and fights the yeast I understand?
