A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi!

I'm 16 and a little confused.

I've had this on and off relationship with a 15 year old girl. It's a long distance relationship and i only get to see her on weekends and holidays.

When i do see her we usually end up going back out but when i go home it usually ends and she's devastated.

Any way, online when we talk and when we meet up she sort of teases me about my weight and i'm not sure if she's being mean or jokey.

Don't get me wrong i know i'm rather cute and really quite chubby but i can't decide if she's being jokey or not! HELP!

A female reader, L? United Kingdom +, writes (30 August 2010):

L? agony auntShe obviously cares for you to be in relationship, especially with long distance requiring a fair amount of effort, so i doubt she teases you with the intention of hurting your feelings. A year may not seem much of a gap but with you being 16-17 you may have a higher maturity level. You wouldn't tease her about such things that could be taken the wrong way, but she may not see that her comments are confusing. If it's once or twice just laugh it off like, yeah yeah we can't all be perfect like you sort of thing, but if it's constant and bothering you tell her straight that you don't appreciate her comments whether she means it as a joke or not. She might think twice next time, good luck xo
